  1. Ensoniq DP/4 Preset Editor:

  3. This editor is used for 5 different types of
  4.    files. Some parameters may be inactive.
  5.  
  6.   To edit an algorithm:
  7.     1. Click on the blue button next to its
  8.         name to display its parameter list.*
  9.     2. Click on "DisplayData" to show the
  10.         current values of the parameters.
  11.     3. Tweak the parameters. 
  12.     4. Inactive parameters will not respond.
  13.  
  14. * The Blue buttons also toggle the BYPASS
  15.    condition ON and OFF.  Check the front
  16.    Panel of the DP/4 to see the red Status 
  17.    Lights.  Red = Bypass
  18.  
  19. + Since this instrument does not reconfig-
  20.    ure the edit buffer when algorithms are
  21.    changed, it is necessary to send a
  22.    MIDI/CURRENT-DATA-TO-INSTRUMENT
  23.    command whenever any of the algorithm
  24.    names in the RED area are changed.
  25. + If this is not done, you will be editing the
  26.    former algorithm.

  28. + Because default parameters are not set
  29.    by the DP/4, changing an algorithm will,
  30.    in many instances, leave illegal values
  31.    in the file (and the DP/4). To correct this, 
  32.    Tweak each parameter to automatically
  33.    set the values within legal range.
  34.  
  35. Setting External Modulation Control:
  36. - To select the Source Controller get its 
  37.    name from the System Editor.
  38. - To set the Destination Parameter:
  39.   1. Tweak the desired destination Parm.
  40.     This will cause the
  41.          "Current Alg Parm #" to display.
  42.   2. Set the DestParm to the same value.
